you know i only starting watching flash forward online only at the start of the week. barely three episodes into it, i loving it already. the buildup of the story line is so heroes-eque; flashbacks from the future, and bringing you into the picture, deeper by the minute. it reminds you a little from LOST, but i kinda lost the story during season one. (LOL)
flash forward gives you space to actually ponder, what the future holds. the whole world blacks out for 137 seconds, and they see six months into the future. yes its creepy. if you don't see anything, that means you're dead. how cool is dead? try to prevent yourself from getting killed? if you see yourself with another lover, does it mean your current family is going to fall apart soon? fighting to keep the family together, this show is free for all to watch. if you have the time, catch it on channel 5, if not be like me, catch it online!
well, they say old habits never die. habits don't die. old habits do. how often do you see people change overnight? a lazy ass crawl out of his house for a jog, a late night sleeper waking up at six in the morning to make breakfast, a smoker quitting his sticks so he can live a healthier life? if it were so easy, we would be saints by now.
its human nature we are tempted by the deadly sins, sloth and greed being the two most common ones (not to mention lust for many men, girls tend to hide that way beneath their skins). its only nature we sit in our little comfort zones, trying to live everyday in the most pleasant ways. catching up with friends over a cup of coffee, hanging out with people of common interest over some alcohol, even cuddling up with someone in the most comfortable of places, your couch!
sometimes i wonder who HE is. HE created adam and eve. HE made us human beings; animals with emotions, animals with a brain so sophisticated we have to suss out our little lives until we all grow old. do you always ask HIM why he brought you in this world?
HE brought us into this world, innocent and wilful. we are so resistant to many things, changes in general. we are put off by things we don't normally associate with our comfort-ness, dirty, tired and congested areas. we want a clean, vibrant and free land to stroll along when things turn really bad. we want so many things in life sometimes we get so sick of things not heading our way. we tend to give in, give up, give reasons. definitely not the most positive things, but keeping up with the upbeat tempo is most critical in such a turbulent environment.
i pray for the world, the people around me, and the soul in me that we can make peace in everything. changes is inevitable. but changes can be executed so nobody gets hurt. HE always wanted us to be better. HE made things possible.

movie number two is my sister's keeper. no spoilers really, if you have not read the novel, don't read it and catch the movie first. then, go read the novel. you'll feel the movie didn't suck. of course they couldn't possibly put everything into the movie. just like how novels turned movies always prevail, this one isn't any different.
i thought the choice of characters for the part wasn't too bad, considering cameron diaz , alec baldwin and oh so cute abigail breslin the ones i've heard. stunning performance by sofia vassilieva for me. i have not seen such a pretty performance at a young age like that. well don't count hillary duff and miley cyrus. they're not really acting, if you know what i mean.
if you love family love, lawsuit arraignments and sickly child stories, you got this movie to feed on those senses. if that is not enough, read jodi picoult novels. you just can't get enough of her.
the beginning of november seems like a time for hope, a good start is always pleasant. as we march on the end of the year, i can't help to feel the pains and struggle of 2009, how it has changed many of us, and how 2010 will bring. i guess nothing really changes unless you do something now. the final charge to the new year would bring new hope to all. definitely for me, i know. i can feel it!
Labels: michael jackson, watami
firstly, it was special because saturday was still october. wake up on sunday, you realised its a new beginning already. we haven't really had the first of the month on a sunday in quite awhile, if i could still recall.
another reason that brings much surprise to my special weekend, i actually caught two movies in the span of two days! considering the fact that i had not caught a movie in the theatre for at least two months now (after the organiser left for the far lands of the united kingdom), the whole idea of watching a show at the theatre kinda died out. died out seems like a strong word, i would use simmered in this case instead.
dinner at watami@ION before the first movie of the week, THIS IS IT. a very, very quick one because we only got less than an hour to get everyone there, queue, order, then stuff all the food down the oesophagus, foot the bill, then head to the theatre. seems like back in the army where you have to rush everything through and not enjoy the joys of life. beef steak on a little pot was less than filling, satisfying yet because i could taste top quality meat right there. if you could appreciate the beauty of this red meat, you would know what i mean. red succulent blood flowing out of it while you try to chew on the 5 centre metre thick meat.
before i actually start on the THIS IS IT review, i must confess i wasn't a fan of michael jackson in the first place. recent covers of MJ's songs brought my liking to the king of pop. starting from the infamous mambo jambo 'blame it on the boogie', to 'beat it', 'smooth criminal' and 'man in the mirror', you could experience how MJ loved his music. love would be such a less intensified word to use here. he lived his life for music, and always put the audience as priority for his every performance.
listen to every song brings a different feeling. put it altogether, and you get the master of all music lovers. just like many of the classic, you have to love michael jackson for his passion for music. the movie is only out for two weeks. go catch it if you love music. if you haven't got company, you can always hook me up for another awesome music treat.
