i realise i have become a sucker for this powerful tool. its a slow but effective way of doing things, but i have become rather impatient for the results to materialise. this could result in lack of everything that is required for success, and valuable time is lost in the process.
its back to the old school ways that surely works. hard work with down to earth mentality mindset, peppered with the right mentor and coach. that would definitely put one to the road of success.
this terrible virus started to attack me on monday night, straight after the first day of the new project. oh my god. what a time to come. i had fever, sore throat, and runny nose. then came the headaches and sores all over the body. wth? how come the immune system is getting so weak these days?
could it be that this year is my unlucky year? so everything starts with health? there always comes a time in our lives when we start to take care of ourselves, and start advocating a healthy lifestyle. i guess this is a good time for me to start! no more late night! more fruits, and vegetables, more vitamins and more exercise!
i have already wasted one week, i think its finally very terrible on my sales chart! the rest have long pulled far away from me. no rest for the last week of august! we chiong until we drop again! okay rest a little, so can run further! good lifestyle, healthy fruits, and exercise to a long and vital journey ahead! take care everyone!
updates. national day, played overnight mahjong at roy's place till around 4am. weird timing. dun ask me why we stopped at 4am. i think the girls are tired. i was surprisingly wide awake still. cabbed back from amk where james dropped me. apparently, i didnt win nor lose. ended up spending money taking cab back. so i lost money in the end!
short week last week because only had to work for four days. but it was a good four days i guess. didnt seemed like four days because we worked day and night, but it seems like work is getting more tiring these days cause of the scorching sun and blazing winds. short week also meant longer weekend, and it always means having more time to go to the gym to workout. i think i need a timetable for my gym workout? any suggestions?
celebrated james birthday over at jab1. and it was martell martell and more martell. okay james enjoyed himself, so have a happy birthday james! had dinner on saturday night, celebrated dad's birthday. ironically, no alcohol, just lots of chinese food. LOL happy birthday dad.
2 more weeks of august to go. and the rest of the week shall continue to be hot, and hopefully windy. results will come, that will determine how far i can run.
The Proposal opens in cinemas 20 August 2009
it all started with the schools cultivating a "love your country" philosophy. we sing our majulah singapura every morning together with our pledge. then we see photos of the president with his beautiful first lady framed up nicely at the halls. we would dress in red or white during national day eve, singing the "one people, one nation, one singapore and count on me singapore" songs, performing "national day related" skits after that. we would wave our mini flags around while singing, like a bunch of very excited kids. yes we were a bunch of very excited kids because national day was a public holiday. a public holiday meant that there's not need for lessons. i vividly remembered that my school invited the late war heroine to our school to share about past experiences during the second world war. it was all to instill into our young mind that we didnt get our independence easily.
fast forward a few years, came a time for us to wear our green uniforms. two full years. our responsibilities as bearers of the pink identity cards. the men had to go through it, provided that you do not have enough excuse to "chao keng". our turn to defend the nation, just like every abled men has to go through in singapore. life was tough, but enjoyable. the experience, was to instill in us again, that our independence did not come easy, and it was not to be taken for granted. we trained and trained, every training was like a real war. of course, we didnt hope for any real war to come. we were prepared for every single threat that was to come.
two years went on by, quickly, just like a nightmare. not exactly a nightmare. a short chapter in our lives. boys to men. guys, i'm sure you'll grin whenever you think back. that's something i guess the girls won't understand. we gave our two years to the nation, in turn, we got stability, secure nation. we would continue this role as defenders of singapore, for the next ten years, always ready to fend of any threats. yes, the army might be a little screwed up sometimes, but i guess screwing up isnt that bad after all. at least, at least, we get our free food, free lodging, and a whole lot of man love in the process.
as we march into 44 years of independence, i would like to wish every true born singaporean a very happy national day. may we always remember our history, cherish our present, and protect every single bit of future that we are going to build. for now, enjoy the long weekend. as for me, i just received my SAF 100. the next cycle of reservist is due next february. i guess the army isnt that screwed up anymore.
met up with dan and the gang yesterday. it has been awhile! i believed many things have changed since school. the topics we used to chat has very much drifted to work, but soccer remains something that knits us together. the size of these outings have also grown smaller over the years. you know how the whole class would hang out sometimes after school, and now it has dwindled to just five or six.
the places we used to hang out have changed as well. throw away the old school of thoughts, the fashion we used to follow, and the food we used to eat. the taste for appreciating art would always be the same, the laughter we cry in unison, the parties we crash over might not be there any longer. but some things do stay the same, i believe, the support we have would continue to remain strong, for as long.
its good to see everyone so happy and having to go through the normal life in society. at least for now. i believe its good to continue to learn. but for now, i guess i'll take a break. for how long, i do not know, but it seems like i have too much commitment at the moment. lets just pray things go out as planned, for many things are still very, very far away. have a great month.
