work was pretty okay, besides not hitting the satisfactory results, the rest was pretty mundane. roadshow for two days, the results were not too bad. exposed myself to more 'singaporean rejections', had a laugh, and moved on. the seniors were very helpful in a way. had breaks with them while they passed on some really timeless advice. overall, i do not hate road shows, but it can be very tiring if you do not take care of yourself.
initially i thought i had time to blog once every two days; it seems like work is taking up most of my time, and i only get to go home after ten every night. you know how crazy the brain works, after certain hours, it refuses to work. if you try to work it, it'll just shut down, or throw tantrums. so far this week, it tried to shut down, and i got this super bad migraine that refused to go away. is it just me, or the colleagues are already getting used to these?
had a meet up over the weekend. the purpose really unclear, but i'll treat it as an outing anyways. had japanese buffet; sashimi feast. and lots and lots of other food as well. i really had fun eating cause bingeing not only makes me darn happy; i dun even suffer from the effects of it. lots of omega 3 i hope. makes me smarter at work, and off duties i hope. bowling after dinner. reminisce from the honeymoon college years where we used to play almost every week. apparently it wasnt the same anymore. i miss the old gang of bowling people where we would laugh over stupid moves, and the girls would be staring over acs bowling boys. well i had my fun when i got four strikes in a row. i am a freak.
supposed to go out for comex today, but in the end, bad weather ruins everything. what else to sum up the week? the seniors will be headed to osaka for their convention. hopefully a quiet week, but i realised its the school holidays tomorrow. how ironic. dan will be back in town next week! an outing with the guys on saturday. i really miss them, and hopefully nothing crops up last minute.
i missed the opening ceremony, and i missed the ending too. the only thing i saw was the stadium with lots of fireworks. many people say it was spectacular. well, zhang yimou is directing that whole thing you know. he's zhang yimou. so, what is so surprising? i know, i am crapping, as usual. im just having a sore period right now, i guess it won't be over until the end of the year.
i received my first reservist call-up letter. how exciting. right after CNY next year. and i need to report to my new camp come next month. i really hate my new camp. i hate camps anyway. no freedom, back to the days of green and black. guys and more guys. the only different now is, i got my pink ic in my wallet and im not going to give them back anymore!
okay. enjoy the last week of august people. i miss beach volleyball, soccer and k-boxing.
man utd didnt do too well in their first game, and they sold silvestre to arch rivals arsenal over the week. berbatov still unsure whether he will be released by spurs. aah, we need an out-and-out striker. been getting some really bad comments from gunners' friends, and some blues supporters mocking as well. hopefully the tide will be over. i will still be sticking my arse with you even if you get relegated.
i have been reading blogs of late, blogs i used to read, blogs i haven't been visiting due to various reasons, blogs that have been updated, blogs that died but still exists, and blogs that i have been religiously reading that makes my day. reading about people's happy and stressful lives sometimes give me a reason to work towards that happy ending. some sad and fearful blogs exist too. they make me realise that sad things can occur too, most of the time to me now. =/
i have been watching the today in beijing by mark richmond and jade seah. everyday i find it funny watching the two of them present. dun you think jade is quite nervous? and mark is quite funny at times lah, with his not so serious accent. jade saga is not over, hopefully they dun replace her!
i had a weird dream last night. hopefully tonight it doesnt come back.
everybody has got their own pretty cosy lives now, and in a few years' time, probably starting a family. who knows, when the first one starts the trend, we all would upgrade ourselves to daddies and mommies. i probably should sacrifice some time from work to start looking; however, the search isnt that rosy like a bed of roses. it is like looking for the perfect job, and we know, very much, that there's really nothing such as perfect. so we keep a lookout, and we don't know when to stop.
back from the digressing, half of august is gone. and im halfway from my target! how exciting. the second half of august seems shorter, because the second half of the target is so much harder, and im still v much facing the same problems everyday. however, im picking up the soft skills pretty quickly, so i guess it all adds up to the value that i carry at the end. im into the third month of my job and im starting to say hello to strangers like its part of my job.
i would head into the third month with more guts, aggression and less supervision. all things should begin well, and keep on with high spirits! and definitely looking forward to more support from the colleagues, family and friends (i hope they are still around). btw, dad turns one year older on this day. happy birthday daddy. though we dont say it, but we all care about you. stay healthy and safe.
i love visiting homes where they got kids. and my boss can be the businessman, while i take the role of the baby-sitter. this seven-year old kid drew a picture for me and gave it to me. how cool. i think i dun like kids as much now. it can be tiring. yes, even though i didnt do much, but looking at them running around makes me tired. somehow, this week, my morale is rather high, maybe thats very good. and i think it will last till the rest of the week.
its friday tomorrow! and the weekend's definitely a good chance to see more people. got clients on the list to meet already. and i cant wait for next week.
after all these months, i'm still very much lost without a clear direction; somehow i have found some light, still very much blurry cause i have not found the right person to steer me to that right route of success. i have passed by many successful people, and i have rejected a few, till now, i have been wondering whether those were the right choices to be made.
the manager told us to put all negative thoughts aside, though the negative thoughts may be words of wisdom by some, i guess its not easy to shut some people off. i'm starting to see the tough side of this industry, holding on might be a struggle now, but i'm sure i'll pull through somehow, and definitely i need more courage than this.
i'm losing my friends faster than im losing my cash-flow, hopefully the real ones stay on till forever, the ones who run away will come back, in the form of new ones, maybe in weeks to come. alright, gotta prepare for work. its sunday night and i hope everybody is at home. things are starting to get dirty, and real business starts from here.
