this year's xmas list comprises mainly of technology equipment. top of the list would be a laserjet printer! im looking at canon's lasershot LBP 3000, and samsung's ML 1610. well, dont ask me why this two; because its the cheapest of the pack. DUH. how can you all afford the rest if you dont get me either of this two. wa ha ha. i got so many stuffs that i could print out if i had a laserjet. my other printer which i have been using since my sec sch days have long been chucked into one of the containers in the store.
the second would be the video ipod which was also on my list last year. this one even i cant afford it, because its more expensive than my pay. tha's why im getting help! however with the recent new rules in SAF implemented, i think i can forget about this for awhile. the third one is a new camera phone, but its also taken off the list because of the stupid rules.
i'll add on more if anything comes onto my mind. you guys hurry get your lists up on the net so we can plan!
we are in the midst of the changing phase and this is the first time something like this has ever happened to the 7 year old unit. privelages and welfare all stripped from us till something (wad else, disipline again) improves; we are all sulking in disbelief. we are turning ops, yet we are always treated like we're still in the training period. 10 more months to ORD, it will definitely feel like 10 years if things dont change. aaargh!!
have you all been watching tele over the past few weeks? not that difficult to spot the PSI reading on the top left of your screens i guess. the haze's pretty horrid especially during the mooncake festival season, but i guess getting better now, due to the change in wind direction and blessed drizzle over the few days. my bro has been updating us with the regular readings due to him being an avid cartoon fanatic. i think he's reading it more regularly than stock brokers in the stock market. LOL
the average reading today is always below 50. not that bad huh. we hope it always stays that way, in the near future at least.
i have always favoured black to many other colours, because my life isnt that bright and colourful compared to many others. and the fact that black is an achromatic colour means it creates a space for imagination. so i always concluded that black is a very cool colour. its true, only to a certain extent.
yesterday was deepavali. first, happy deepavali to all my indian friends. yes, only to my indian friends. deepavali is a festival celebrated by hindus all over the world to symbolise good over evil, light over dark. thats why you see so many lights litted all around whenever you see a hindu.
on weekends, boon lay mrt would always be crowded with bangladeshees and indian (however you separate them) because its their day off. im sure it happens everywhere wherever you see construction sites. i see lotsa them around my area too before the new flats in front of my block were erected. but due to a change in constuction companies, they have now changed the workers to chinese. well, yesterday the crowd was more than ever. the sky looked more gloomy with the haze still not getting out of the skies of our little sunny island after light drizzles here and there. they practically stand in groups of three to five, and hog the whole pavement leading towards jurong point.
well, ask the people how irritating it is to walk along the road because they wont want to let you walk with grace and beauty. they just keep staring at you and your chick, refusing to look away. the stupid grin on their faces makes you want to take out a parang and chop their dicks off. and do i need to remind everyone how dark christmas was last year? these people seem to be very happy looking at our pretty girls and making merry.
the fact that we need foreign talent does not only include these people from bangladesh. and because we singaporeans are so spoilt having good life, we do not want to do any shitty work. we do our very best to live in a very clean place, giving the authorities no choice because we demand a very good pay. and so these bunch of graduates who are armed with a degree from bangladesh university come to our little city in search of a bright future. sadly to say, they have to deal with sleeping with nine other men in a room smaller than our living rooms with no girls at all. when saturdays come along, they flock to the crowded mrt stations to satisify their hormone increment. sounds like ns men who only book out once a week? LOL
somebody please stop this influx of foreign talent before all our pretty girls get irritated by the phenomenon and start to migrate out.
and so we decided to help her, considering the fact that being a samaritian once in a while was nice, rather than selling flags along the streets or volunteering to help out in a folk's home. although we had to detour cuz where we were heading was totally off route from where she wanted to go. but its all for a good cause, so who really cares rite? i would barely understand her initially, because i haven been using cantonese for quite some time after my grandma left us a year ago, but at the later parts i started to construct a few broken sentences here and there and managed to get the message across.
so she finally got to the destination, and called her relative to come pick her up at the control station. and we parted, with smiles and happy gestures. i thought it felt good doing something great because i havent really got a time to meet my folks and i had quite a good relationship with my folks when i was younger. i want to learn cantonese all over again, so i can help more people, with ease this time.
oh as we were taking our train back to town, this other auntie asked us how to go to tampines. she just laughed because she said i had a friendly face. WHAT THE HELL?! haha. okay. hopefully good things happen to me from now on. only the good things! =]
the week also seemed long because most of my friends are clearing leave, while the silly me did not even apply one. the platoon was only left with 15, less than half of them were actually those who came back from their driving course, of which many i was not really in close contact with. so i was only left with 1-2 friends to actually talk to. imagine how boring life can get when the 7-man bunk became only 2. and the rest of the other 5 bunks were left with 1-4 man each because of other members on course or on leave.
today is friday the 13th. and i got the best gift of my life. i got 3 extras! my camp is fucked up. because i think its one of the only few which gives you extras for bringing camera phones into camp. cant imagine i acutually surrendered my camera phone when i got my 6510 with me. WHAT THE FUCK! more ADS and guard duties for the month of november =| and i think i have done enough ranting for now. see you when i haf more angst in me.
caught the movie world trade center over the weekend. i must say it was quite a good show, cuz i didnt know the extend of the tragedy. and this movie made me realise this. i must have been a noob about 9/11 because i was doing o levels at that time. so BUSY doing everything and not reading the papers or sitting in front of the tele watching the news. actually i was so busy with gaming that i forgot all about studying, and everything outside my world of gaming became a standstill. i even forgot about my family, other friends not gaming, teachers etc. that is so very wrong. kids, dont copy this. because i am not reaping the consequences of not mugging hard.
im supp to give a review of the movie, and not rant about wad i was doing at the point of the collapse. well, well. the movie touched on the emotional elements of what americans were doing at the point, putting ourselves in their shoes, making us think how we would react if something like this would ever happen to us. like a typical american movie would convey, it touches on family, the american government, people giving support to people. "love is in the air"; "love is what that brings one closer to the world"; "you wont die if you believe" - things like this i guess. well catch it if you must. worth a few tears to be shed, and many take home messages to carry along.
zhou jie lun's album, still fantasy (yi ran fan te xi) has been playing non-stop on my playlist since i got back on friday. ten tracks yet each of them so v unique. different styles to suit different moods which you can groove and swing along to. ting ma ma de hua~ bie rang ta shou shang~ listen to your mom everyone.
